2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry (Airborne) "The Rock" update 10/17/07

I'm out of town this week on a business trip but will attempt to provide brief updates each day.

The calls and emails continue to come in with offers of support for the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry (Airborne) "The Rock".  Many thanks to all of you who have commited items thus far.

Yesterday I received a call from a motorcycle club in Peoria, IL that wants to provide items of support.

I received an email from a gentleman in Florida who is sending items along with about 20 or so post cards he is writing to the Soldiers.  An EXCELLENT idea.

I met a lady from Illiniois whose church is going to come on board with assistance - they will meet next week to determine exactly what.

Before I left on this trip the UPS man stopped by and left 2 cases of baby/body wipes.  Hurray!  I know who sent one case - I have no idea about the other one but thank you to whomever it was.

Please keep circulating the email and spreading the word.  While EVERY single item matters we really need more of the warm weather gear.  Gaitors, balaclavas, long johns.
