2nd Battalion, 503 Infantry (Airborne) "The Rock" - daily update
We have received enough lip balm. Many many thanks to those who commited the tubes. EACH one has been ordered with various printed messages. FANTASTIC!!!
We are still in need of fleece neck gators/scarves, winter wool hiking socks, hand warmers, unscented baby wipes and body lotion for dry skin.
I had some visitors yesterday. The mailman, the UPS man, friends and neighbors. Here's a photo I took when I arrived home from some errands. The mail man had dropped off a few items from y'all.
I shoved everything that had been delivered (2 deep) into my "warehouse" until I could get it all sorted out and packed for shipping today.
I got everything packed and addressed. Then I filled out those darn customs forms. ARGH! Next step was to get everything loaded in to the car and run it to the local postal center. Uh oh! I think I need a truck or a tank or something a wee bit bigger for this. A few bungie cords later and off I went. Luckily postal center is just around the corner. Only a few easy turns and I was there.
Once at the Postal center I unloaded and my dear friend Vicki (who owns the store and runs the postal center) got all the boxes processed in no time. By the way, Vickie has donated so many boxes and so much tape over the past year that I've lost track. She and her husband Don are true supporters of our troops.
Over 150 lbs of items on their way to various Companies of the 2nd Battalion, 503 Infantry (Airborne). For those of you who may be gasping at the size of some of those boxes - they have the smaller ones inside. Cheaper on the postage.
A million thank yous to all who have volunteered their time, money and efforts to this great project. Keep the donations coming and we'll keep shipping them on over. Remember to include a note or a letter so it can be tucked inside to let the Soldiers know how many of you care about them. It'll be fun for them to see from how many states the items are being sent.
Keep it coming friends.

Thank you for all the work you're doing to help these wonderful "Airborne!" guys.
Nah ~ not gonna get a hernia. If any of the boxes are too heavy I'll just dash down to the recruiting station and get that big Army Strong Tanker guy to help me out.
No need for thanks. If not for all those who, like you, give so freely and graciously none of this would be possible. You know what an honor it is to support out military GN.
That'a a huge load you got there. Do your neighbors ever wonder if it's Christmas at your house? :D
